In my first lesson, I learnt the 7 concepts of making a horror movie. In my free time i came up with an idea for a story, which i believed can be a good start to our opening title sequence. My idea was, when the child sleeps his nightmares come alive and what he believes is fake and does not happen, actually happens in real life. leading on to this story the boy has a nightmare about a creature/man that has red eyes and chases his mother through a forest killing her, without knowing that he is actually making this happen. Before this happened to his mother, he dreamed that his best friend would get killed. After these two losses and no one to turn to (as his dad was away from time to time with work, and having no friends, as not many people liked him) that night he dreamt of his mothers death and as he was trying to save her switching her body for his, he killed himself, as he switched him self his mother came back alive, but as he was dead she contained his evil nightmare.
I have had thoughts about what we could call our opening title sequence and I came up with 'killermares' or 'killer nightmares'.
I have also started thinking about our audience and what they think is scary, so I am going to ask people what they find scary in a horror movie. Adding to that I have also made some questions to ask people, to evaluate and try to include into our opening sequence.
what types of horror movie do you like? e.g. slasher, thriller and paranormal
would you be interested in watching this if it was a movie? (my idea for the opening title sequence)

today we went out and did filming for the first time, by ourselves to get use to using the camera and find different techniques of filming which could be used in our final piece. we learnt that we should not; swear, film it in long shots, look at the camera, laugh and use the zoom button. we also learnt that we should; film in short shots, plan a variety of shots, more than one shot e.g. *long *mid * close-up *short *extreme close-up, different angles, point of view, over the shoulder, aerial shot, sound is as important as image, ambiance sound(creates a mood), good casting(for the right parts), beware of health and safety, keep the story simple, construction, use a tripod, props, be careful of reflections, define our audience and leave space for effects to be added in.

in this lesson we used our first time filming clip to do the do's and don'ts. we watched everyone's clips and did some self evaluating, saying what we think is good and bad about it. we also learnt about the types of camera angles, movement and shots. we also learnt what makes a good title sequence; which is music and a very good story line.

in this lesson we practiced the 180 degree and continuous filming. we filmed from one side of a door with someone opening then, filmed from the other side of the door with the same person, but to keep the continuous filming we got the person to use the same hand and motion as they used before. we then practiced doing the 180 degree filming correct to show what it looks like and then we did it incorrect to show what it will look like if someone had done it wrong.

today i started thinking of horror ideas, i came up with primal, religious views, demons, canabaism, innocents. these all have things linked to them which can make it a very good OTS. the innocent idea was to have children younger then the age of 10, so it draws in the audience and shows emotion(sadness, heart break).
idea 1:
killer: child
victim: children (ages between 3-10)
place: home and school
storyline: a child that had a normal life, he was kind , nice to everybody and cared for by his loving parents outside the house, was abused behind close doors. This was because at the age of 2 his parents had another child, a girl, which changed the way they treated him. he grows up not knowing what was right and wrong, very simpled minded. The parents favoured his younger sister. At the age of 6 he builds an haterd for girls and starts plotting killing people in his mind. By the time he had turned 8 he started to set out and kill young girls.
