We also made notes of what camera angles and shots were used, also the use of the movement of the camera, for instance in the first scene of the women looking up at the celling there was a low angle, mid shot and the camera is moving around the women. This is my storyboard!!

QUESTIONNAIRES
16th October
Today I made a start on our audience Questionnaires, I went around and asked a range of 15-25 year olds |(our target audience) and asked them arrange of horror related questions to help us with our final OTS.
Once I got some responses from our questionnaires, I made some pie charts and we are going to incorporate the most popular results into our final OTS to make use it appeals to our target audience. |
PRELIMINARY TASK: Practise Shots

TESTING BLOOD
Tuesday 21st October
In todays lesson we all started to test different blood that we could use for our OTS. In our group we had to make and test Gravy Blood. However I had to be the person in our group to taste it, which consisted of me spitting the gravy out of my month onto my clothes and also I had to have other types of blood thrown over me!
Some types of blood that other groups had to test where: Realistic Looking Mint Blood, Peanut Butter Blood, Tomato Ketchup Blood, Icing Blood, Chocolate blood and Realistic Blood. Our Group found out that the constituency of the gravy was too thick and didn't look realistic enough to use as blood. |
Sound
Monday 10th November
In todays lesson we learnt about how sound is used and the different types of sound that can help create a scene and a movie.
When sound is used in a film it enhances the audience and there emotional experience, helps create continuity when moving between scenes, it can give a insight into a character thoughts, helps represent a specific character and sets the location and time period.
Diegetic Sound:
- Diegetic sound is sound that you can hear in reality, for example knives and forks clinking together at a dinner table.
Non-Diegetic Sound:
- Other sound that the characters cant hear in reality, like voice overs and music.
Contrapuntal Sound:
- Sound that doesn't fit with a image or a track, for example happy music playing when someone is about to kill or threaten someone.
Parallel Sound:
- This is sound that complement's the image and track, also helps reflect one another.
Voice Overs:
- A voice over is a narration in a film that it not accompanied by a image of the speaker.
Direct Address:
- This is when a character speaks directly to the audience.
Sound Bridge:
- This is sound that continues from one shot to another.
Ambient Sound:
- A buzz or surrounding sounds, for example the clicking of a clock.
Dialog:
- When a character speaks to another character.

1st attempt at filming shots
wednesday 19th november
Today we went out to Churchdown skate park. we walked around trying to find the perfect place to film out OTS, we discovered that Churchdown skate park has the perfect atmosphere for OTS; its dark, its secluded, surrounded by overgrown bushes and trees. We have decided we will be filming half of OTS at the skate park the rest in a dark room.
Firstly we started to chose a tree that would work best for hanging the baby doll form, then we started to film practice shots to get a feel of what the scene would look like. |
Mise-en-scene
Thursday 27th November
Today we about Mise-en-scene, this is what is in a scene, it consist off: Props, Location, Costume, Actor and Positioning.
Props help give a greater insight into a character and time period. Clothing represents personality, social class, personal circumstances, hobbies, time period and climate. The Location can give impact on the mood of the scene to the audience, and can also imply scary, busy, isolation, safe and happy. The Actors can show different ages and genders that will be used for different audience groups, also a individual actor can be selected to help enhance a particular genre. The final mise-en-scene is the Positioning this can help portray what is happening and going on in the scene.

Burning Baby
Monday 16th December
Today Ellie and I went out and set fire to the plastic doll! Originally we went out and tried to make it look like that the baby was crying blood but it didn't work very so well, so instead I came up with the idea of burning it instead, so we went to an area that was safe for us to burn it and we started filming scenes, which I think worked out rather good!
